Water Heater Relief Valve Problems

water heater relief valve problems
Why my valve leak a little water on my water heater? Is the replacement of the valve to solve the problem?

It is generally several reasons why a valve leak on a water heater. 1. The seat can be slightly damaged if replacing it is a good idea. There may be a small piece of debris under the valve seat. If this is the case, you should be able to operate the valve manually and clear the debris. 2. Most places now require a backflow device to prevent water from flowing from your house back into the main line to the street. If your home has one of these, but does not have an expansion tank, then the heat from the heating elements can more pressure you hot water system and cause the valve to open to relieve pressure. If the expansion tank is old and the internal diaphragm has failed, so it is more effective and should be repaired or replaced.
