Water Heater Gas Control Thermostat

Help water heater?
I have a hot water heater with a natural gas burner does not ignite .- Gas is dormant may be lit-solenoid be heard when thermostat is set to holiday hot-fan works when solenoid is committed, but the burner does not light There are not two electric "devices" mounted on the control unit, we consider that it is a membrane with a knob and the other is from the cylindrical housing. Both have two son leading to it. I guess it is a gas shutoff emergency but I do not know where or for testing. Ideas?
You do not hear the solenoid … .. you hear the click of the thermostat. It is very likely that your solenoid () cylinder located on the gas valve.
