Solar water heater with a tankless water heater?
I was asked by a potential customer a few days ago about the use of a solar water heaters in combination with a tankless water heater. I think using a solar water heater to supply a tankless water heater is an excellent idea, and a green that.
Solar water heaters are offered in a variety of types. Some are passive and do not need pump, some require one or more pumps, some directly heat the water, and some use indirect means to heat water drinking.
The Passive Solar systems may find a storage tank on top of solar panels, that way adjournment water hot storage tank, and cooler water sinks to the bottom tank collectors. This cycle continues as long as thermosiphon water heated in the collectors.
Passive solar water heaters have a lot of isolated enclosure facing glass or transparent plastic and filled tubes or cylinders or even a tank that absorb sunlight and heat water in a batch. No movement needed.
In active solar-type systems pump circulates water from the collection in the tank when the temperature sensors is sufficiently high and above the temperature the tank. Some systems use an indirect method of heating water. These indirect systems circulate a fluid through the collectors solar, then through a heat exchanger in the hot water tank.
Solar water heater tanks are well insulated, and they do not burn through the center, so they have few losses in standby mode.
The type of system to use would include your geographic location, since some parts of the world have much more sun, and if you're in an area where temperatures drop below zero, you must take into account as well.
tankless water heater to modulate the gas burners or electric heating elements to maintain a constant temperature of output pre-defined. If you feed the input with the output of your solar water heater tankless unit does not turn not unless the temperature of the water from the solar water hater is not hot enough, and if not, it burns gas only enough or eat just enough current to keep the outlet temperature at the preset temperature.
You end up with a very Efficient hot water plumbing uses a minimal amount of energy when the solar hot water is available, and you still have quantities unlimited hot water when you need it. It is a great way to transform your green residential plumbing system.
Added a hot water system of demand makes the system more environmentally friendly. By adding the hot water demand of the pump you save water and energy. A pump at the request uses very little power, typically about $ 2.00 per year in electricity costs, and saves thousands of gallons of water per year.
By combining these three elements, the solar hot water, tankless water heater, and a hot water demand you get the most green as possible to your hot water problems, offering savings water, energy savings and convenience of fast hot water without end. You reduce gas emissions at home, of reduce emissions of carbon foot print and save money.
